Large aircraft makes rare appearance at KCI after Qatar Airways flight is diverted

A Qatar Airlines flight landed Tuesday in Kansas City – instead of Chicago – after a nearly 16-hour journey, according to airport officials.

Severe weather in the Windy City caused pilots to divert the Airbus A350, according to a Facebook post from Kansas City International Airport. The long-haul airplane has a wingspan almost twice the length of the Boeing 737s common at KCI.
