RAYTOWN, Mo. (KCTV) – A Raytown man faces up to life in prison after prosecutors say he tried to steal a car – then shot a man who confronted him, leaving the victim blind.
Jackson County Prosecutor Melesa Johnson announced on Wednesday, July 29, that her office charged Nathaniel L. Pearson, 18, of Raytown, with the following:
- First-degree assault
- Armed criminal action
- Attempted stealing of a motor vehicle
Court records showed that the charges were filed in connection with a May 10, 2025, shooting in Raytown.
