Some Wyandotte County residents could be without electricity even longer as crews work through heavily damaged areas across the county, Mayor Christal Watson said during a press conference Thursday.
The number of outages had fallen sharply since Wednesday morning, when roughly 16,500 customers were without power. As of 9:50 a.m. Thursday, that number had dropped to roughly 9,600.
“We ask for your patience. Some areas will experience an outage for more than two days,” Watson said. “Our team continues assessing the impact and working to connect residents with appropriate assistance.”…
