KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Wrangling trash is a much tougher job than it looks, and local waste disposal experts proved just that during a unique heavy-duty obstacle course competition.
Republic Services hosted its specialized “rodeo” Saturday, transforming a parking lot at Monarchs Stadium into a challenging proving ground for its drivers.
The event featured professional drivers maneuvering massive garbage trucks around tight turns, mock narrow neighborhood streets, and strategically placed trash carts. The obstacle course is designed to replicate the daily challenges these drivers face while servicing residential and commercial areas.
“It’s challenging for sure,” said Dillon Pierson, one of the event’s participants. “And I think we take for granted the skill and professionalism required to service waste and recycling in this market every single day.”…
