KC man charged with four felonies following police chase

CLAY COUNTY, MO — Arraignment was at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Clay County for a Kansas City man charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle, aggravated fleeing a stop, and possession of a controlled substance.

According to a probable cause statement, law enforcement observed a light blue Chevrolet Cruise bearing only a rear license plate, which they knew did not belong to the vehicle, turning north onto Randolph Road. When authorities attempted to stop the vehicle, the suspect, later identified as Alberto Jose Florian, 37, allegedly fled and drove through traffic, stop signs, and red lights at speeds over 100 mph.
