Pet Resource Center veterinarian rewarded for outstanding work

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The veterinary staff at the Pet Resource Center in Kansas City are making a difference in the community and one man decided to “Pay It Forward.”

Arellano Stevens was shocked to find his 2-year-old cat, Phlo, under the hood of his car. Phlo was probably trying to stay warm and climbed up near the engine.

“Phlo was crying like a baby,” said Stevens. “It was very scary to find him with so many burns all over his little body.”

Two animal clinics quoted Stevens the cost of treating Phlo at $800 and $1,500–money he didn’t have.

Stevens contacted the Pet Resource Center, where he’s taken his pets before, and they were able to help Phlo heal from his burns.
