BLUE SUMMIT, Mo. (KCTV) – A Blue Summit gas station owner wants something done about recent flooding in the area that forced him to temporarily close his business. He says the last time the area of 23rd Street and Television Place near I-435 flooded, it took days for the water to recede.
Khurran Jawed shared security footage and stills from inside the store, showing the recent storms have also left the gas station flooded. He says this is the second time this month it’s happened due to the heavy rain.
“It floods the parking lot. Water goes inside the store,” said Jawed. “It’s a hassle. We have to waste a lot of product. There’s lots of damage. We’re losing customers and business.”
Jawed says he and his partner have run the gas station for over 10 years and it hasn’t always flooded like this. Nearby residents who drove by to look at the road closures agreed…
