KANSAS CITY, Mo. — If it feels like we’ve experienced an abnormal amount of severe weather in the Kansas City area, then you’re correct.
After five tornadoes from Sunday to Monday, and a tornado in Slater, Missouri on Wednesday, the Kansas City region has now totaled 20 tornadoes in the month of April, a new record, according to the FOX4 Weather Team.
That number surpasses the previous record of 18, set back in 1964. So far, there have been 21 confirmed tornadoes in the area in 2026…
