You can get your fines reduced from these KC-area libraries if you donate food

If you owe the Mid-Continent Library some money, you now have a chance to get those fees reduced.

The Kansas City-area library system is launching its Food for Fines initiative, which collects food items for local charities and food pantries. It also gives donors a chance to pay off overdue fines with the library.

The library said that each food item will count as $1.50 off existing overdue fines or replacement card charges, up to $30. Of course, you are welcome to donate even if you don’t have any fees…
