MoDOT revises schedule for southbound MO 291 lane changes in Lee’s Summit

Kansas City, Missouri – Drivers in Lee’s Summit will see a revised traffic pattern on southbound Missouri Route 291 as utility work continues near the U.S. 50 interchange, part of a broader improvement effort that will reshape one of the area’s important travel corridors.

The Missouri Department of Transportation said the updated schedule now calls for a head-to-head traffic configuration on southbound MO 291 from Blue Parkway to SE Bayberry Lane. That setup is expected to begin Thursday, May 28, at 4 a.m. and remain in place until Monday, June 22, at 5 p.m., weather permitting. The dates were revised from the earlier May 19 through June 9 schedule.

The change is one of several traffic adjustments tied to ongoing utility work in the area. MoDOT has also noted that 7th Terrace, between MO 291 and the new Blue Parkway, remains closed. That closure began Monday, April 20, at 4 a.m. and is scheduled to continue until Monday, June 22, at 5 p.m…
