Tennessee flips legacy linebacker Kenneth Simon from Alabama

Tennessee picked up a pledge from 4-star linebacker Kenneth Simon on Saturday, just a month after his initial commitment to Alabama. The son of former Tennessee linebacker Kevin Simon, Kenneth is now on track to follow in his father’s footsteps.

The 6-2, 210 pound prospect is the 144th ranked prospect in the 2027 class, according to 247Sports. Simon is the sixth ranked prospect in the state of Tennessee. He received his offer from the Volunteers a little over a year ago.

Simon’s father, Kevin, played at Tennessee from 2002-2005. He would return to Knoxville on Jeremy Pruitt’s staff and coached on Josh Heupel’s year one staff at Tennessee. The familiarity with the program was obviously a factor in his decision to flip, and a spring visit allowed him to get to know Tennessee’s new-look defensive staff…
