HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The start of the week is looking fantastic for the Tennessee Valley, but by the end of the week, the chance of heavy rain returns.
The Weather Authority is closely monitoring the progression of an area of low pressure off the coast of Texas. The National Hurricane Center currently gives the disturbance a 60 percent chance of developing into a tropical system within the next 48 hours. If a tropical system forms, it would be named Arthur.
The track of this system will be key in determining how heavy the rain will be in our area.
We will begin to see scattered rain showers rotating in late Thursday morning. The better chance for widespread steady rain will be late Thursday into Friday morning. It will be during the timeframe that we could see pockets of moderate to heavy rainfall.
Isolated showers will be possible again through Friday afternoon as a cold front tracks through the region…
