The Grub Spouse is a breakfast fanatic; any time of day is the right time for bacon and eggs and the like in The Spouse’s book. Naturally, there was a lot of enthusiasm there for my most recent outing, to Flying Biscuit Café in the Turkey Creek development. I’m not usually a big early eater, but I was uncharacteristically hungry that morning, so my excitement level was high too.
Flying Biscuit’s aesthetics made a strong first impression; the combination of colorful murals, wall art and décor was visually stimulating when we walked inside. We didn’t linger at the entrance long, however, as a hostess led us promptly to a booth in the fairly spacious main dining area. Outdoor seating is available as well.
The down side of being hungry at a restaurant is that so many things on the menu sound appetizing. I found myself struggling before I’d left the section of starter items, which includes firecracker shrimp, the Avocado Boat (topped with pineapple pico and spicy Thai chili sauce) and Nashville hot chicken tenders.
