KNOXVILLE, TN (WOKI / WVLT) – Ijams Nature Center is set to expand recreational opportunities at Mead’s Quarry thanks to a donation of more than $45,000 from Grayson Subaru.
The funding will support Phase Two of the Ijams Nature Playscape, along with improvements to the dock at Quarry Lake.
Ijams CEO Amber Parker said the planned dock upgrades are designed to create a larger and safer swimming area. The current U-shaped dock sits in a shallow cove, but the new design will extend farther into deeper water and include additional ladders to improve access for visitors…
