KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – The Hemp House in West Knoxville will close by July 2 as Tennessee’s new hemp regulations take effect.
Owner Andy Chesney said the strain of state regulations forced the decision to shut down after eight years of operation. The new rules will limit his ability to negotiate prices with manufacturers and ban THC-A products, which he said account for about 30% of his sales.
“It’s just going to make a product more expensive for consumers and from our retail perspective, it’s going to decrease that margin to a point that just makes it too tough for a business our size,” Chesney said…
