Temperatures will return to summertime averages Thursday as the humidity increases a little. Rain chances will increase Friday into the weekend. The heat and humidity will become oppressive heading into next week.
- Today: Warmer and a little muggier. Higher elevation storm possible (20%). High: 88°.
- Tonight: Warmer and a more humid night. Low: 69°.
- Friday: Very warm and sticky with spotty storm chances (30%). High: 89°.
High temperatures will climb back to seasonal levels on Thursday (upper 80s), and it will be a little more humid as well, which could help a stray storm or two to develop later in the afternoon/evening hours. The majority of the region will stay dry, though, limiting any interruptions for outdoor plans. It appears the better chance (still low) will be over the higher terrain.
A southwesterly breeze will increase moisture levels through late week into the upcoming weekend, making it feel more like summer. Highs will reach the upper 80s (heat index values in the low-to-mid 90s) on Friday and Saturday.
Friday’s moisture values will be quite elevated, which means it will be mild out the door, starting closer to 70° Friday morning. These moisture levels will also allow for at least a few spotty storms. It looks as though these will favor the Plateau and up into SE Kentucky. Severe weather is highly unlikely, but a storm or two could contain some gusty winds…
