KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Floodwaters pushed about a foot of water into Next Level Brewing Company on Broadway Street on Sunday night, forcing owners and customers to spend hours clearing the building and beginning mold-prevention work.
The City of Knoxville said Broadway Street received more than 1.4 inches of rain in a 15-minute period Sunday night. The flooding concentrated near the intersection of North Broadway and North Central, sending several feet of water into the streets and into nearby businesses.

Co-owner Nathaniel Sears said he was unable to reach the business immediately because roads near the area were impassable. When he arrived, four or five regulars were already inside with brooms.
“I finally made it here and we had four or five regulars here and they had everybody had brooms and whatever they had and they was trying to push the water out and me and my wife and son we just jumped in and started helping us,” Sears said. “We had about 10 people here last night.”…
