Anderson County District Attorney Reports Continued Decline in Crime During 2025

Crime in Anderson County declined for another consecutive year in 2025, continuing a long-term trend that has seen reported offenses fall by more than half since 2007.

According to annual statistics released by Seventh Judicial District Attorney General Dave Clark, Anderson County recorded 3,621 crimes in 2025. That represents a 6.4 percent decrease from the 3,868 crimes reported in 2024.

The latest total is also approximately 51 percent lower than in 2007, when the county recorded 7,387 crimes. Since 2020, reported crime has fallen from 5,422 offenses to 3,621—a decline of roughly one-third over five years.

The report also shows improvement in the percentage of reported crimes solved by law enforcement. Anderson County’s clearance rate increased from 58.1 percent in 2024 to 62.2 percent in 2025. In 2007, the rate stood at approximately 32.7 percent…
