KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — After Papa Murphy’s announced plans to close dozens of locations last month, all Tennessee locations of the take-and-bake pizza chain are now closed.
Papa Murphy’s online location directory no longer lists any active stores in Tennessee, with East Tennessee restaurants now labeled as permanently closed on Google Maps. They had operated locations in Knoxville, Oak Ridge, and Seymour.
Deli on Kingston Pike to close after 35 years
MTY Group, the Canadian restaurant company that acquired the pizza chain in 2019, announced it would close 45-50 Papa Murphy’s locations during its second-quarter earnings call last month.
According to franchise disclosure documents obtained by KTVI, the number of Papa Murphy’s locations dropped from 1,168 restaurants in 2023 to 1,014 by the end of 2025.
