KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — East Tennessee’s largest school system is back in class, but not everyone in Knox County is comfortable in their classroom. Students at Sarah Moore Greene Academy spent their first day of school without air conditioning and some say this is a known problem.
Parent Kelly Ihnen said she first became aware of the issue last week before school even started.
“So we showed up to back-to-school night, meet the teacher, big celebration. And we go into the room to meet my daughter’s teacher,” said Ihnen. “And it’s clearly extremely hot.”…
