KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The number of crashes, DUI arrests, and citations issued by police in Knoxville over Labor Day weekend were lower this year compared to the last few years.
According to data released Tuesday, Knoxville Police Department saw six injury crashes over Labor Day Weekend this year, down from 11 in 2025 and 12 in 2024.

The numbers of crash investigations and motorists assisted were down as well. There were no fatal crashes over Labor Day Weekend in 2026 and 2024 but one in 2025, according to KPD.
Knoxville Police also made fewer DUI arrests and issued fewer citations than the previous years. There were four DUI arrests and 85 citations in 2026, compared to 14 DUI arrests and 244 citations in 2025 and five DUI arrests and 295 citations in 2024…
