Moisture levels will be higher today, which means some locally heavy rainfall cannot be ruled out. Spotty showers and storms are expected, especially during the afternoon/evening. An isolated stronger storm cannot be ruled out on the Plateau and in the southern Valley. Isolated damaging winds are the main concern. It will not be a washout out and not everyone will see rain. Some breaks of sun can be expected. As a result, it will be a steamy day. Highs will reach the low 90s. Heat index values will peak in the upper 90s and low 100s.
A few showers and storms could linger this evening. Drier conditions should settle in for most overnight. Once again, the Plateau and Southeast Kentucky will be the favored spots. Overnight lows will drop to the upper 60s and low 70s.
