Knoxville Weather: Rain and storm chances increase for Saturday

Stray storms are possible through Friday evening. Better chances for rain and storms will move in on Saturday.

  • Friday night: Stray showers/storms mainly early (20%). Low: 70°.
  • Saturday: Scattered showers and storms (60%). High: 87°.
  • Saturday night: Lingering showers and storms early (30%). Low: 70°.
  • Sunday: Stray storms mainly over higher terrain (20%). High: 89°.

Stray storms will remain possible through Friday evening. The best chance for activity will be over the Cumberland Plateau and across the Kentucky/Tennessee border. If a storm does form, it could produce locally damaging winds and heavy rain.

Storm chances will taper off tonight as we stay warm and steamy. Temperatures will only fall into the lower 70s.

Moisture levels remain quite elevated for Saturday as well, so we are expecting additional opportunities for scattered showers and storms along with more cloud cover. This should help to keep afternoon readings below 90° for most areas…
