KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Tennessee Valley Fair is bringing more than rides, games, and food to Knoxville.
Inside the livestock barns, farmers and exhibitors showcase the animals they’ve raised while giving fairgoers a chance to experience East Tennessee agriculture up close.
Seven East Tennessee locations up for consideration on National Register of Historic Places
Visitors can walk through barns, see the livestock and watch competitions throughout the fair. For some families, the experience is part of a tradition that has lasted for generations.
One family farm said its connection to the fair began with a great-grandfather and grandfather who started showing cattle around age ten. The love for agriculture was later passed down through the family and continues today.
For one college student, the fair is a reason to come back home. Their family has been coming to the fair for 55 years to show cattle and spend time together…
