One Knox clinches first playoff berth in club history in second professional season

One Knoxville SC clinched a playoff berth for the first time in the club’s second professional season.

One Knox’s rise has taken it from semi-professional in USL League Two to USL League One playoffs in only three seasons. And next season, the club will take another step forward with its move to new Covenant Health Park in Old City for its 2025 season.

The 1-1 draw against Chattanooga Red Wolves at CHI Memorial Stadium on Saturday clinched a place in the playoffs for One Knox (8-5-6) with the top eight teams advancing to the playoffs.

One Knox is sixth standings with 30 points .

“From our outset, we said One Knox exists for many reasons but a key reason is to win trophies for Knoxville,” One Knox managing partner Drew McKenna said in a team release. “Earning our first professional playoff bid is a major step toward delivering on that goal. You gotta be in it to win it!”

There are three games left in the regular season, and there’s more at stake for One Knox: hosting. The top four teams will host the first round of the playoffs.
