Downtown Knoxville staple up for USA Today 10Best Award

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – A downtown Knoxville staple is in the running for USA Today’s peoples’ choice award for best roadside diner. Pete’s Restaurant and Coffee is asking for their customers to throw a few votes the restaurant’s way.

USA Today’s 10Best Awards allow voters to log in each day to cast a ballot. Pete’s has until May 4 to secure enough votes to claim a spot on the list. The restaurant is up against other national and Tennessee favorites, like The Arcade Restaurant, the oldest cafe in Memphis; Bob’s Grill in Pittsburg, Kansas and more.

Known as a breakfast icon, Pete’s has long filled the bellies of hungry Knoxvillians. Originally owned by Pete Natour and his family, the location was sold in 2024…
