K-9 flown from North Carolina to Tennessee vet ‘progressing well’ after ozone exposure

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A K-9 who was flown from a veterinarian in North Carolina to a Knoxville veterinarian is “progressing well” and is expected to either be discharged on Thursday evening or Friday morning.

K-9 Luca, a six-year-old Belgian Malinois at the Clay County Sheriff’s Department in North Carolina, was reportedly exposed to a “concentrated ozone,” which can cause an acute lung injury.

He was then flown to Knoxville for life-saving treatment, according to Project K-9 Hero…
