Knox County Schools to reduce 57 teaching positions for 2027-2026 school year due to lower enrollment

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Knox County Schools held a meeting on Thursday to discuss and vote on the budget for the 2026-2027 school year.

On Thursday, KCS leaders approved a $717,685,000 general purpose budget while also voting through an $82,011,000 capital budget and a #33,943,000 school nutrition budget.
