Knoxville breaks ground on 4th phase of Western Heights transformation with $40M HUD grant

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Knoxville’s Community Development Corporation broke ground on phase 4 of its largest affordable housing development at Western Heights on Wednesday afternoon.

Phase 4 will include the addition of 47 one-to-four-bedroom units and three separate residential structures, according to KCDC. Crews will also add amenities like a fitness center, a community room, a meeting space, a leasing office and a maintenance office.

This transformation will surround the Beaumont neighborhood to make economic opportunity, transportation, healthcare and recreation more accessible to Northwest Knoxville residents, KCDC said…
