Savannah Bananas looking to hire 400+ ‘gameday teammates’ for Knoxville games

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — For those looking to make a little extra money this month, the Savannah Bananas are hiring more than 400 “gameday teammates” ahead of their games in Knoxville.

Visit Knoxville and the Bananas issued a joint press release, sharing that the team is on the hunt for 400 people to help pull off “the greatest show in sports.” The job opportunities are open for both game days, May 21 at Covenant Health Park and May 23 at Neyland Stadium, and will pay $15 an hour.

“If you love a fast-paced environment and want to be right in the middle of the action, we’d love to have you on the team,” The release from the Savannah Bananas and Visit Knoxville said. “Whether you’re a lifelong fan or just looking for the most fun work weekend of your life, come help us make history in Knoxville!”

The gameday teammate title can cover a variety of jobs, from scanning tickets and helping fans with merchandise, to assisting with logistics and transforming the stadium into a “Banana Ball stadium.”

The Banana’s website explains that shifts can range from 4 to 15 hours, depending on the role teammates are working in. Additionally, teammates can apply to work for as little as a day or as much as a whole game series, as well as games happening away from teammates’ hometowns…
