Missed the mobile hazardous waste drop off? Don’t hang onto waste – Here’s what to do instead

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The City of Knoxville held a mobile waste drop-off event on Wednesday, but they also want all residents to know that even if you missed the event, you don’t need to hang onto any hazardous waste lying around your home until the next one.

Located at 1033 Elm Street, the Household Hazardous Waste Facility, in the Solid Waste Facility, disposes of more than 50 residential hazardous waste items, like antifreeze, oil-based paint, vape devices and cooking grease, six days a week. Plus, just like the mobile drop-off event, at the Household Hazardous Waste Facility, disposing of your hazardous waste is free, and you don’t even have to step out of your vehicle…
