KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Current and former Knox County Sheriff’s Office employees are facing three different felony counts that could mean years in prison if convicted, according to a legal expert.
Eight of the 11 indicted have been booked and bonded out of jail. Three still need to turn themselves in, including former Sheriff JJ Jones, Chief Deputy David Amburn and retired Chief Deputy David Henderson. Jones and Amburn both ran unsuccessful sheriff’s campaigns in the primary.
The indictment shows 11 people, 10 with ties to KCSO, are accused of theft of property over a quarter million, conspiracy to commit theft of more than $250,000 and theft of services for more than $60,000…
