Norris Councilwoman Loretta Painter Resigns After More Than a Decade of Service

NORRIS, Tenn. — Norris City Councilwoman Loretta Painter has resigned from the Norris City Council, effective immediately.

Painter announced her resignation in an email to City Manager Bailey Whited, saying she was “off to a new adventure in a new state.” The resignation leaves about six months remaining in her current term.

The Norris City Council is expected to formally accept Painter’s resignation during its June meeting. After that, the city will invite interested residents to apply for the vacancy. Council members are expected to choose a replacement by majority vote at their July meeting…
