Pair of mules unharmed after tractor-trailer crash in Knoxville

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Two mules were unharmed when a tractor-trailer they were being transported in crashed in Knoxville and briefly blocked traffic on Thursday.

The crash blocked one westbound lane of I-40 in downtown Knoxville around 12:30 p.m. After the scene was cleared, Tennessee Department of Transportation spokesperson Mark Nagi revealed that a pair of mules named Stan and Dan had to be taken from the scene.

After the animals were checked by University of Tennessee staff and deemed to be in good health, Stan and Dan were loaded onto a new trailer and taken home.
