The owners of a planned downtown bar that was denied a permit to sell alcohol said they were discriminated against because of their race.
Marlon Haynes and Jermey Figaro, who are Black, filed an appeal with the 15th Judicial District Court in April, arguing that Lafayette Consolidated Government was unfair during the application process and that allegations against Haynes’ other bar factored into the final vote by the Lafayette City Council.
