This Lafayette chef just beat 12 competitors to become Louisiana’s seafood king

Lafayette chef Kris Allen has been crowned the 2026 King of Louisiana Seafood after winning the 19th annual Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off.

Allen, executive chef at Pamplona Tapas Bar and Restaurant, earned the title by preparing a crab-stuffed flounder that bested dishes from 12 other chefs during the competition, presented by the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board.
