Three New Businesses Are Coming to Carencro

CARENCRO, La. – It’s been a busy few weeks for business news in Carencro. We recently learned of two restaurants closing down with the announcements of Pizza Amore and Tokyo Japan shuttering. Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux Opens July 20 on I-49 Frontage Road

Carencro residents have been anxiously watching the construction of the new Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux on the I-49 Frontage Road next to Prejean’s Cajun Restaurant. And we now finally know an opening date. In a Facebook video, a grand opening date of Monday, July 20, 2026, has been set.

This will mark the second Acadiana location of Walk-On’s, joining the longtime first location at 2336 Kaliste Saloom Rd in Lafayette. There was another location that opened in recent years in Broussard, but it closed in February 2025.

Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux is a vibrant, Louisiana-inspired sports bar and restaurant chain co-owned by New Orleans Saints legend Drew Brees. Known for its scratch-made Cajun and Creole dishes, it offers fresh seafood, juicy burgers, and an extensive tap list alongside wall-to-wall TVs for game days.
