Washington-area shooting leaves 2 hospitalized

WASHINGTON, La. (NEWS 15) — Two people were shot in the Washington area and transported to a Lafayette hospital late Sunday night, according to the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz reported St. Landry 911 received a call from one of the victims at Gator Gold Truck Stop in Opelousas on Sunday, June 28, around 10 p.m., that they had driven to the truck stop from the Washington area and needed an ambulance.

He said investigators are still working to determine where the shooting actually took place…
