LAFAYETTE, LA. (KLFY) — In Lafayette, a formal complaint has been filed with the District Attorney’s office against the Lafayette Parish School Board, alleging policy violations related to the closure of Ovey Comeaux High School.
Former state representative and former school board member Rickey Hardy initiated the complaint, asserting the board did not follow its own voting procedures.
The complaint specifically targets a June 11th school board meeting where the decision to close Ovey Comeaux High School was made. Hardy claims the board violated its policy, citing rules under File BCBG and CF: BCAD. This policy states that a matter voted on by the school board shall not be reconsidered more than once during a calendar year, except by a two-thirds vote of the school board.
