Krewe of Gabriel members gathered by the hundreds to welcome their newest krewe members at a sizzling summer social on Aug. 8. Warehouse 535 was packed with guests who enjoyed a couchon de lait, delicious bites and a band that was hotter than the weather. The music by GPK and Blueprint could get any crowd in a celebratory mood. Add to that, the Lafayette Police Department’s Mounted Patrol brought two of its fabulous horses to visit outside the event, which delighted many a horse lover. Gabirel members really do know how to put on a show.
This party had all the good “end of summer” vibes you can imagine. Members said turnout was even better than expected. As one member put it, so many people have been on vacation that they were anxious to get together with friends again. This is also one last hurrah before the real work begins. Preparations for the very early Mardi Gras season have already started…
