Pedestrian injured in hit-and-run crash; police seek tips

UPDATE: We have more information about a hit-and-run that happened Friday night on Verot School Road.

Lafayette Police tell us a vehicle was traveling south in the center lane. At the same time a person was walking in that lane, which is the turn lane. The vehicle hit the person and then drove away. .

When police arrived, the person was unresponsive, and CPR was done at the scene. The man was taken to a local hospital where he’s listed in critical condition.

The crash happened in the 100 block of Verot School Road at about 11:42 p.m. Friday.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking that anyone with information please call Crime Stoppers at 337-232-TIPS.
