Eye on Scams: Employment scams targeting grads, remote workers

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)– According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, roughly 20% of the U.S. workforce now works from home.

Brielle Blanchard, Interim CEO of the Better Business Bureau of Acadiana, said remote work opportunities lure in graduates and scammers this time of year.

“Remote work has become very popular within the last couple of years,” Blanchard said. “And so, we’re seeing a lot of fraudsters trying to recruit people who are job hunting through remote positions.”…
