BMW, Booze, And Busted In Polk County: Driver With 13 Suspensions Clocked At 100 MPH

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – On Thursday, June 11, 2026, the driver of a 2025 BMW sedan apparently decided to treat northbound U.S. Highway 27 like a personal racetrack. A Polk County Sheriff’s deputy doing routine traffic enforcement near Peace Creek Park Road in Lake Wales watched the car weave aggressively across all three lanes, sending other motorists scrambling for their brakes to avoid a crash.

The deputy pulled out the radar gun and clocked the BMW at an even 100 MPH in a 60 MPH zone. When the deputy finally got the car pulled over, the driver’s paperwork—or complete lack thereof—told quite a story.

The man behind the wheel was 49-year-old Joseph Olivera of Winter Haven. A quick background check revealed Olivera hasn’t held a valid driver’s license since it was completely revoked in 2022. To make matters worse, he was sitting on a grand total of 13 active suspensions…
