Nearly half of Floridians struggle to afford basic necessities: report

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A new report revealed that nearly half of Floridians are struggling to afford the basic necessities.

The Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed (ALICE) report was recently released, which shows a snapshot of households that earn above the federal poverty level but less than the basic cost of living.

Florida’s median household income is currently $77,735; however, a United Way Suncoast report revealed that a family of four with two young children in childcare must earn more than $106,000 annually to afford the basic necessities…
