Lakeland Man Tells Deputies ‘You Don’t Have a Warrant,’ Gets K9 Wit Instead

LAKELAND, Fla. – An argument between roommates escalated into a physical altercation and a brief police standoff east of Lakeland on Thursday evening. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested 53-year-old Christopher Shannon Johnson following the incident at a residence off Country Road 542.

Deputies were dispatched to the scene at approximately 7 p.m. after receiving a report that a suspect had kicked his roommate and locked them out of the shared RV where they live. Upon arriving at the property, deputies located the victim, who was not injured.

Johnson remained inside the RV and refused to cooperate with the responding deputies. According to law enforcement, Johnson barricaded himself in the vehicle and yelled out to the deputies that he “wasn’t coming out and they didn’t have a warrant.”
