BROOKSVILLE – After more than three decades of waiting the family of 12-year-old Jennifer Odom finally has justice for their daughter.
On August 25, a jury unanimously recommended the death penalty for Jeffrey Norman Crum Sr., age 65, in relation to the first-degree murder, kidnapping, and sexual battery with force against Odom in 1993.
“This is a moment that everybody in this community, in fact the entire Tampa Bay, Pasco, Hernando County community, has waited for for three decades – for 33 years,” said State Attorney Bill Gladson. “From a family’s perspective, all of us can agree, we have no idea what they have been through. It is unspeakable the tragedy that they have experienced, but when you look at the situation the way it played out, … To bring justice from the criminal justice perspective 33 years later, it is pretty incredible.”…
