Polk County Women Mean Business Builds a Community Around Women Entrepreneurs

For the 118 businesswomen in Polk County Women Mean Business membership revolves around three core initiatives: the community, the Confidence Closet, and the Indoor Market.

Co-founders Jessica Robinson and Luanna Baughman wanted to build a network focused on women entrepreneurship that provides peer mentorship with mental health resources, skill-building, and cross-business referrals.

“I’ve always despised traditional networking,” said Robinson, “You walk into a room and it feels like an exclusive club where people stare at you like, ‘Who invited you?’ I used to struggle with self-doubt going to those meetings, and I hated seeing women try to build careers in isolation.”…
