The East Flagler Mosquito Control District’s Airbus helicopter now has a hangar buddy: the Flagler County Sheriff’s newly acquired helicopter, for months stored in airports in Lakeland or in South Florida, landed at the Flagler County airport grounds just before 11 a.m. Tuesday and was parked alongside the Airbus, where it will remain for the foreseeable future.
And there it was, gleaming in this morning’s bright light as the door of the hangar rose to better illuminate both helicopters. The tail number on the newly arrived helicopter, N611FC, incorporates Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly’s agency call number.
The Sheriff’s Office is parking its helicopter at the Mosquito Control hangar for lack of ready space elsewhere. “Any time we can help a community partner out, we’re going to do anything we can,” Mark Positano, director of the East Flagler Mosquito Control District, said this morning…
