Million square foot warehouse will bring jobs to residents.

From a single store in 1992 to over 1,000 locations in 2026, TJX’s store HomeGoods has been sourcing goods from around the world and selling them to customers at discounted prices for over 30 years. TJX Companies Inc. itself came to fruition years before that, operating as the parent company with full ownership of several stores, meaning it manages their branding, financial decisions, and operations. While Plant City may not have its own HomeGoods location, we have one of TJX’s sister companies, Marshalls.

This week, a HomeGoods/Homesense spokesperson confirmed in a statement to the Plant City Observer that their company has acquired 175 acres of land in Plant City for a distribution center. “We expect to begin construction of an approximately 1.2 million square-foot distribution center soon, which will create jobs for residents of the city and surrounding communities.” They maintain that this distribution center will help service their growing network of HomeGoods stores, as well as those of its sister brand, Homesense…
