Dive teams search for other missing USF student after Zamil Limon’s remains found on Howard Frankland Bridge

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Human remains found on the Howard Frankland Bridge Friday morning have been identified as missing USF student Zamil Limon, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

“I am heartbroken to announce the discovery of human remains discovered on the Howard Frankland Bridge earlier this morning,” HCSO Chief Deputy Joseph Maurer said in an afternoon press conference. “Just now, those remains were positively identified as Zamil.”

Limon, a 27-year-old doctoral student pursuing a degree in geography, environmental science & policy at the University of South Florida, was reported missing by USF police on April 16. Fellow doctoral student and friend Nahida Bristy, 27, was also reported missing.

“We don’t have any indication to think that she is [dead] or she is not,” Maurer said. “We are still actively trying to recover Nahida.”…
